Earth Hour is a global event promoted by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) held the last Saturday of March each year and it's a voluntary power outage, in which homes and businesses are asked to turn off lights and other electrical appliances for one hour. This symbolic action is to raise public awareness about the need for action against climate change and anthropogenic emissions and save energy and reduce light pollution.
On March 29th, hundreds of landmarks around the country joined the Earth Hour as Buckingham Palace, Tower Bridge, Trafalgar Square, St. Pauls, Wembley, Brighton Pier, Cardiff Castle, National Library Wales, Edinburgh Castle, Forth Rail Bridge and many more!
In the afternoon there were several events, a flash mob dance 60 pandas were away visiting the sights of London and taking pictures with the public and a super concert broadcast live from the super-star Sophie Ellis-Bextor in Southbank London. Watch this video and enjoy!
But all of us must remember that we can help our planet if we SAVE ENERGY EVERY DAY!!!
