“Equality for women is progress for all”. That is the theme of this year’s International Women’s Day, being celebrated today, March 8, across the world. Lamenting discrimination against women and girls worldwide, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said: “Where men and women have equal rights, societies prosper.”
