Dancing Santa Card

Christmas crackers

Christmas crackers are an integral part of Christmas celebrations. A cracker consists of a cardboard tube wrapped in a brightly decorated  paper. The cracker is pulled by two people. The split is accompanied by a small bang or snapping sound.

Crackers are typically pulled at the Christmas dinner table or at parties. In one version of the cracker tradition, the person with the larger portion of cracker empties the contents from the tube and keeps them. Typically these contents are a coloured paper hat or crown, a small toy and a joke on a small strip of paper.

You can make a Christmas cracker following the instructions in the video. Try it. It's quite easy.

A Mandala Christmas Tree

This is our Special Christmas Tree this year. It's made by mandalas that you were painting the last few days. A Maṇḍala is a Sanskrit word that means "circle". In the Buddhist and Hindu religious traditions their sacred art often takes a mandala form. These mandalas, concentric diagrams, have spiritual and ritual significance. They are also a key part of meditation practices.

This is a sweet surprise for U today. The Christmas Pudding is traditionally served on Christmas Day (December 25th). It has its origins in medieval England, and is sometimes known as plum pudding because of it's a boiled pudding involving dried fruit. The Christmas Robin

Do you know what a robin is? The humble robin is a traditional Christmas symbol in the UK. It's the colourful bird often depicted on the greetings cards and Christmas gift wrapping. They also use little robin decorations to trim their Christmas trees and Christmas cakes or chocolate logs. It's hardly surprising that they cherish this pretty, cheerful little bird as part of their Christmas festivities because he is so colourful. And during the long bleak winters it lifts to hear the chirpy song of the festive robin.

Robins live through out Europe (Except the far North) and Western Siberia.
